Quadrant 3 – Relational

Today, I am going to introduce you to LifeQuad ™ Quadrant No. 3 – Relational.   This quadrant is possibly the most difficult one to wrap your arms around.   For the other three quadrants, the internet is literally flooded with systems and processes and blogs and formulas for working on your weight and physical condition, for improving your relationship to God (via quiet times, Bible study plans, prayer, etc) and improving your skills, work flow, organization, etc.  But relationships with colleagues, spouses, children and others we cross paths with daily, are often left to “adjusting on the fly,” or helping us to simply tolerate those lesser beings we are “cursed” to put up with daily.   My personal Achilles Heel seems to be the way other people drive.  God is working on my on this one.   I need a lot of help and patience.

hidingfaceSimply put, this quadrant is designed to help us relate better to those we encounter daily.   The Spiritual and Relational Quadrants are directly tied to the Greatest Commandments, as outlined by our Lord:

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

38 This is the great and first commandment.

39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Matthew 22:36-40  ESV

In the Spiritual Quadrant we are focusing on knowing God and growing closer to Him and in the likeness of Jesus daily.  In the Relational Quadrant, our focus is on our relationship with others.   We will daily learn, through a simple life plan template, to “love others as ourselves,” by the power of God’s Holy Spirit.   One step at a time… One day at a time.

I don’t know about you, but I need a plan like this to help me stay focused and intentional about walking with Jesus.   Those I work with daily need me to do this.  My family needs me to do this.  And I am sure, you have people in your life that need you to walk this path as well.   Come join me.
